Brian Keates, 2010 BUNGS Captain

I have chosen the Burton on Trent & District YMCA as the recipient charity for this year's fund raising.

200 young people (under 25) seek their help with serious housing problems and relationship worries each year. One of the strategic aims of Burton upon Trent and district YMCA is to end youth homelessness in East Staffordshire.

They work to achieve this by helping to prevent further young people becoming homeless, and by extending the range of provision in the Burton area.   A mediation officer is working with young people and their families to see if family relationships can be improved whilst we’re looking to place young people with host families if they are unable to live with their own family.
