Anyone who plays golf within the midlands will have surely
of heard of Beau Desert as it is probably the finest course in
the area. It is a highly regarded venue, the course hosted the
Midland and Staffordshire professional and amateur championships
as early as 1935 and has been used as a regional qualifying
venue for the Open Championship on 14 occasions. The
championship heathland course is surrounded by a forest, and the
tree-lined fairways make the course tight and when the trees
disperse, the heather filled rough takes over. The large
undulating greens are fast and true making Beau a fine test of
golf.
I look forward to seeing you all on the 28th.
