Pairs Championship

Whittington Heath Golf Club
Our next event takes place at Whittington Heath Golf Club,
Lichfield on Thursday 31st July 2008 where we will be
competing for The Pairs Championship (18 holes four-ball
better-ball stableford, pairs to be drawn out the hat on the
morning of play). This day will cost £60 and includes:
Coffee and bacon sandwich on arrival (9.15 - 9.30)
9 hole ‘practice’ in the morning (1st tee-time 10.00)
Soup and sandwich lunch (12.00 – 1.00) approx
18 hole four-ball better-ball stableford in the afternoon (1st
tee-time 1.30)
Three course meal followed by prize giving (7.00 – 7.30 approx)
Soup of the day; Roast pork;
sherry trifle
If you wish to attend this event, please return the bottom
portion of the letter with the full payment of £60 by no later
than Thursday 24th July.
Please note that jacket, shirt and tie
ARE REQUIRED
in the clubhouse for the evening meal.
Founded in 1886, Whittington Heath is one of the oldest clubs in
England and one of the best courses in the midlands. The course
is 18 magnificent holes winding their way through heathland and
trees presenting a great test of golf. Although it’s not the
longest of courses and the doglegs are most tempting, leaving
the fairway can be severely punished. Even if you hit the greens
in regulation, putting is no picnic on the fast undulating
greens.
Please note, the maximum number
of places available for this golf day is 40.

Please be aware that there is always the
chance that, due to adverse weather in the days preceding a golf
day, a course may be closed or have a trolley ban. If there is
a problem then, wherever possible, those with email will be
informed and information will be posted on the website. However,
it is ultimately up to you to check if a course is open or has
any restrictions by phoning the club (not Steve.
HANDICAP
CERTIFICATES
For
those of you who are members of a golf club, please remember to keep a copy of
your handicap certificate in your bag at all times.
This is just in case a course requests that we provide them before play.
